MORE SPACE FOR A GROWING FAMILY.

The owners of this classic 1970s suburban brick home in Narraweena on Sydney’s Northern Beaches were desperate for more space.

As is common with homes of this era, it comprised a series of small rooms divided by internal walls. The simple process of removing a few of these internal walls transformed the space into a roomy, open plan living and kitchen area.  Natural light flooded in from all directions instantly making it feel larger.

The large, open plan kitchen with a new gas strut server to the new entertaining deck.

The laundry, adjacent to the kitchen, was renovated in the same style as the kitchen and a sliding barn door added to create a sense of interest.

The second-storey addition became a tranquil parent’s retreat with a master bedroom, ensuite bathroom and walk on robe.  Huge windows were added throughout the parent’s retreat to capture the spectacular district views and bush outlook.
